Accreditations and Tests for PVSTOP:
- ISO Certification: PVSTOP achieved ISO Certification in 2019 for ISO 14034:2016 Environmental Management, Environmental Technology Verification (ETV). This certification signifies compliance with international standards for environmental management and technology verification.
- European Commission Verification: PVSTOP is accredited under the European Commission’s Environmental Technology Verification Scheme. It was one of only four companies in the “Energy Technologies” category to receive a Statement of Verification from the ETV scheme.
- Electrical Output Assessment: Testing conducted (#21240276.001) confirmed that 40% coverage of a photovoltaic module with PVSTOP reduced the power output of the module to zero, ensuring electrical safety.
- Fire Propagation and Surface Spread of Flame: PVSTOP meets the requirements of BS 476-6 and BS 476-7 standards, achieving Class O classification, the highest performance classification for lining/coating materials.
- Smoke & Toxicity Testing: EN45545-2 2013 testing resulted in PVSTOP’s smoke and toxicity levels being 9 times below the required “pass” level, indicating minimal environmental impact.
- Chemical Testing: PVSTOP was tested for PFAS/PFOS/PFOA chemicals, with none detected in the formulation, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Environmental Risk Assessment: A PVSTOP Test Report concluded that the formulation poses no significant hazard to the environment, providing assurance of its environmental safety.
- Independent Testing by Singapore’s National Water Agency: PVSTOP was recommended by the Singapore Civil Defence Force for risk mitigation on a floating solar farm. Independent testing by PUB concluded that PVSTOP is safe for use on drinking water reservoirs.
- Future Standard Development: Emirates Safety Laboratory is collaborating with PVSTOP to develop a technical specification for solar panel isolating coating. PVSTOP is undergoing testing with ESL to procure a certificate of conformity for potential future standards.
